Scraps for Christmas Cards #2

Granted for the first and second card from Scraps for Christmas Cards I didn't really use scraps because I cut from brand new 12X12 papers but just showing you could use your scraps for these card ideas or washi tape.

This card I also made a matching gift tag and decorated the envelope and inside of the card with the reaming scraps.

There are multiple versions of this card on You tube but if I had to pick the one that I went from it was this one by Carol Gatton.

Papers are from a New stack I just recently purchased from Micheal's using a 50% coupon called Sugar Plums, its a 12X12 Recollections paper pad with 180 sheets.
All the Strips are 1/2 of an inch wide.

I cut 5 different lenghts, this made it easier and fast by lining up all the paper in my trimmer. I cut 3 1/2, 3, 2 1/2, 2, and 1 1/2.
Assembly style, the base is a 3/4 inch wide by 1/2 inch tall and the star is a punch. I glued the star and trunk down first then started with the bottom and top layer then the inner two layers and finally the middle layer to help keep even spacing.
Mus ta gotten distracted because I have jumped right into the tag pictures.  I used my Cricut machine and the Winter Frolic Cartridge and on page 59 I cut the tag out in white at 3 inches and red at 3 1/4 inches, I re punched the hole with a hole punch after I glued the two together.
Used a red Sharpie marker to color the start gems that I most likely got from Micheal's or Hobby Lobby, sorry I didn't save the packaging.
Same strips as before just cut the lengths different 1 1/2, 1 1/4, 1, and 3/4 inches. then as you can see by my paper trimmer I set them down to cut them in half, again this makes it easier and I will get two tags from these papers.
The base is 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch.
Finished card, layered the white on the same red card stock as the trunk and the star.

Close up of added button and some crochet twine I got supper cheap at a thrift store.

Inside of card and I lined the bottom with extra patterned paper.

All three together, I added more pattered paper to the envelope.
I made 5 cards and 8 tags and still have paper left to do more of the same card.

Scraps for Christmas Cards #1

Again over at Word Art Wednesday they are having Challenge number 105 and as always its Anything Goes.

I saw a video on this card from Scraps & Stamps on You tube.  I loved it and knew I could replicate it with the tools that I have on hand in my craft room.

Here is how I started, Picked out  my base supplies to make sure I could replicate the card.
This is a Oval from a My Favorite Things.

My mat is a Paper Studio Heavy Weight card stock in the color cream. It measures 5 1/4 by 4.
After I cut the Oval out from my mat I lightly drew a circle to know where to put my tape.
The pattern paper is Recollections brand in the big 12 by 12 packs. The brown came from an Autumn stack and the green, red, and blue came from a Christmas stack.
I used a Stampin Up writer marker in Chocolate chip to make fau sticth marks along the outside.
I cut my strips at 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 of an inch wide.
Used my trusty ATG gun and applied adhesive around the traced circle.
Layed the strips down in no particular order.
Cut off the excess.
Foam adhesive, your favorite kind, taking note to add to the inner circle area so the card doesn't sag.
.
I believe the banner die is from My Favorite Things but I am not sure where the Merry die is from.  Just google Christmas dies and you should find many different kinds.

Getting ready to Emboss the sentiment, I only inked the Christmas part of the Merry Christmas Stamp
Regular adhesive on the area of the Christmas and pop dots on the other end.
Pop dots near the top and liquid glue on the bottom
Finished

Again I believe CASEing is all about using the supplies you have and the original idea and making it your own.
