Many Uses of Scotch Tape while Crafting.

These are some tips on how Scotch Tape is ESSENTIAL in crafting weather its for scrapbooks, cards, smash books, or mini albums.

I will periodically add to this post as I continue my journey in paper crafting.

Good Old Tape.

To help your ribbon stay secured and not move all around the front of your card use Scotch tape on the back before putting adhesive on your mat.

Tieing a know on the back of your button will often make it bumpy and not alow it to ahere evenly to your project. Use a little Scotch tape to hold it down and then add your glue dot and it will make your finished product more smooth.

Postage Stamp Card

This card I used a variety of different products. No Cricut today.

Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink with a stampin wedge

I used dimensionals for the patterend squares and adhered straight down the light pink ones.
I took the prongs off the brad and adhered that with a popdot and 2 glue dots.
The buttons are attached with a glue dot.

Simon Says April Card Kit card #1

I was going to enter a different challenge and wanted to use the April kit but I just couldn't make the card work for what the challenge requirement had said so I am going to enter this into the April Simon Says Stamp Card Kit Gallery.

I used a pend and curled the bottom of the banners our and the top par in, I added a very small thing foam adhesive to raise the banners up.

The only thing not from the kit is the twine and that's from Sew Easy Fancy Floss in Black and Lemonade.

I used Stampin up Hearts of Flutter framelets to make the banners.

I wasn't sure what colors I would use so I cut extra.

I stamped the sentiment in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and made into a banner, I adhered it to some more of the black patterned paper and made that into a banner as well. I curled the edges our and the center in and used 2 pop dots to hold up the center.

Dump Truck Card

I need a little boy card and I knew I had the B is for Boy Cricut Cartridge, as I looked threw the cartridge I found this dump truck and I knew I wanted to cut it out.

The truck reminds me of one of Doc McStuffins toys and an episode that me and the girls just recently watched. Talk about inspiration.

And I did the inside as well.

The truck is raised on foam and some of the circles are as well.

The pieces, cut using my gypsy at 2.75 inches.

I used Reccollection Papers that were in my scrap drawer.

I used Sand paper instead of the brown, I used the brown piece and traced onto the sand paper and cut it out.

Fine Grit sand paper.

I decided to switch out the yellow circles for buttons that are also Reccollections brand. I believe they were in the $1.50 bin and had several different colors in different sizes per container.

The chevron paper is also from a Reccollection 8.5 X11 paper pack called All Seasons.

Here I am testing out which Stayz On ink I liked better.

FYI.... Stamp straight down and lift straight up the ink and sandpaper wants to slide.

I used a Stampin up punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, I believe is the 1cm circle and punched out some from the scraps of sand paper.

Sketch Challenge #2

Freshly Made Sketches is having another challenge #79



I spotted a Easter card on Pinterest and loved how they made it. When I was searching for challenge blogs today I saw this sketch and thought of that card. Granted that card on Pinterest has a completely different lay out but I figured I would give it a try.

I made 2 cards the same in 45 minutes. That includes pictures and typing up this post. That's pretty good taking consideration that I usually spend 1 1/2 hours on 1 card.

Side View

I used Stampin Up ink in Perfect Plum and a Stampin Up stamp set.

I used my Cricut and Gypsy to cut out the circle and scalloped circle.

I couldn't help myself I just had to bust out the Swiss Dots Cuttle bug folder.

The paper are from Recollections including the patterned paper.

Butterfly card

Just looking around different challenge blogs, I created a card yesterday while the girls and I were downstairs before supper.

I found this Ribbon Carousel Blog and there challenge this month is to use Ribbon and have a Spring themed card.

It was perfect for me because my card had a Springy butterfly and some beautiful orange polka dot ribbon.

My card and matching envelope.

Here lately I have really been decorating the envelopes to match the cards and also the inside of the cards and I have been having alot of fun doing this.

The stamp and die set I chose were from the Stamps of Life.

Seriously go check her out, the prices are AWESOME and shipping is only $1.00 per item.

The inside is decorated to coordinate with the outside.

The bottom picture is how I made the trail for my inside of the envelope.

I used Stampin up ink in Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze.

I stamped them in that order, lights first then darkest to help when the inks overlapped each other.

I really have to suggest using a Mouse pad under your paper and using a stamp press like a Fiskars Stamp Press.

My images have been coming out much nicer using these 2 tools.

Its perty.

Up close view, I used dimensional to make the butterfly stick out.

I have been stamping on Stampin Up Whisper White paper. I am loving that paper, Images are clean and crisp.

 My supplies.

The yellow card base is from Recollections Paper as well as the white inside. The butterfly pattern paper that also has some pretty flowers is also from a recolection paper pad, the size in between a 12X12 and 6X6.

My inks are from Stampin up Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight.

I used my Cuttle bug to Die cut my images. I corner rounded the top edges with my 1/2 inch side of the  Corner chomper tool thingy.

My orange polka dot ribbon was from Hobby Lobby.

Simon Says Card Kit (card #2)

My March Kit Came and I love one of the designs that Kristina Werner had came up with.
Entering this into the March 2013 card gallery.

I recreated it with different colors of ink and patterned paper and also used a different sentiment.

I used Stampin Up ink in Basic Black, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight, I also used some yellowish green gems from Recollections

The 2nd Photo is my testing paper, I was trying out different inks to see which ones matched my papers.

The 3rd Photo is how i cut my layers, This way I don't have so many loose pieces in my box.

The 4th and 5th Photo I was having trouble stamping the Sentiment so I used some of the patterned paper I had left and finally got a nice stamped image. I also used a MOUSE PAD on the bottom to help cushion my stamping and my Fiskars Stamp Press to help it have more give.

The 6th and 7th Photo is the card and matching envelope. The card is 4 1/4 by 4 1/4 square, so I had to make my own envelope, I cut my paper to 7 by 7 and scored with my Martha Stewart Score Board with that triangle insert at 3 3/4 inch all the way around, cut out the corners and use score tape because its stronger.
