CAS(E) this Sketch #167

Over at CAS(E) this Sketch their Sketch #167 was PERFECT for the Stamps of Life club set called bandage2stamp and the cordinating dies.

I also used some Bazzill card stock from my old Simon Says Stamp card kits stash along with some Stamps of Life card kit card stock.

Add a little wink of stella glitter pen and glossy accents and you have a fun OUCH! card.

 I am starting off cutting out the bandage from some Taffy paper,  I ran this threw back and forth about 2 times.

I think I will invest in the pression base plate the next time I go to Micheal's or Hobby Lobby.

 I am using this sizzix tool to help get those little bits out of the die cut.

It works pretty decent, had a few strays but not to bad.

 The heart also came from those dies and I cut it from Candy Hearts paper and added two layers of clear wink of stella then the fine tip glue pen from Stampin UP has basically glossy accents in it so I added that on top.

 From the same Candy Hearts paper I cut the back of the bandages and adhered them with a little of the fine tip glue pen.

 It does not go behind perfectly so I just trimmed off the excess right over my garbage can.

Because this took a little extra effort I decided I might as well make two cards.

I need four bandages per card, for the sentiment bandage I put Licorice card stock behind and stamped with Versa Fine Black Onyx ink.

Inside, the bandage on the inside I did not cover the heart with glossy accents.

SSS Wednesday Challenge 7th Birthday

Over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog they are having a Birthday challenge since they are 7 years old.

I decided I wanted to make a clean and simple designs with flowers.

I looked up on Pinterest their Flower Friends stamp set for ideas and found one by Laura Bassen and used what I had on had and changed up the sentiment.

 I decided to use these two stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp called Flower Friends and Hello You, along with a Scripty You die.

 I made four cards so I cut 8 white card stock panels to 4 by 5 1/4 inch.

I started off by stamping the first part of my sentiment in Versa Fine Black Onyx Ink.

I used my stamp press to make sure my sentiment straight.

 Here I am trying to decided wheather to use the die or the stamp set.

 Again using the stamp press because the flowers are solid.

 Using some double sided adhesive tape to Basic Black card stock to make adhering the die cut easier to my card front.

Close up of the Four cards, I used Stampin Up colors in Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder, Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral, Regal Rose and Primrose Petals, Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy.  Leaves in Certainly Celery and card bases.

MFT Sketch Challenge #275

I decided to play along again in the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #275

I am encorperating MFT stamp sets and Stampin Up ink and card stock to create two cards.

 I used a circle die from my stash and a pencil to rough out line how far out I needed to stamp my music notes.

 After I stamped them I doubled checked to make sure I had enough.

I ended up changing my mind about the white back ground and went with a cream color so I restamped it.

I decided this after I chose my pattern paper.

 I added some foam to the back of the panel, it turns out to be 5 1/2 tall by 3 3/4 wide.

 To make it easier to line up I opened the card and held it up side down and aligned the edges starting with the bottom left and working my way up the left side.

 I am using Early Espresso card stock along with cordinating ink for my stamping.

I embossed in white my sentiment for the front of my card.

 Using some more foam to attach the sentiment strip that I have also cut on an angle.

The pattern paper is a Retierd DSP from Stampin UP.

 I wanted the birds to have an embossed look too and if you work quick enough with Stampin UP ink you can clear emboss right over it.

 I stamped and cut a bird and got it pretty good for the first try.  I am going to use the negative to cut out the birds for my cards.

 Line up the negative spot on top of the stamped image.

 And put on top of both the die, it will run threw your machine just fine.

I used old discontinued blendability markers that Stampin UP used to carry to color the birds, you can use what ever coloring medium you have on hand.

I used this MFT stamp set for just the music notes, you can also get the cordinating dies as well, the stamp set is called Contempo Cage

For the sentiments and birds I used this MFT stamp set that also has cordinating dies, its called Tweet on You.

I added some clear wink of stella glitter to the music notes.

MFT Sketch Challenge #274

I took the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #274 and made a batch of Thank You cards. I kinda turned the sketch just a little bit to make my sentiment work better.

 I am using MFT Sweet Rose dies to cut out the flowers and leaves.

I am cutting out enough to make four cards.

I used Stampin UP ink and card stock colors, Crisp Cantaloupe and Certainly Celery.

 I also stamped with the cordinating stamp set on top of the die cuts.

Here I am laying them out to see where I need to stamp my sentiment.

The Crumb Cake piece is 1 inch wide by 3 1/2 inches long.

The Very Vanilla piece is 3 1/2 inch square.

 Using my grid mat and some tape runner adhesive to line up the sentiment piece.

I stamped the sentiment in the cordinating ink color.

 Added the flowers on with foam adhesive.

The sentiment also came from the same stamp set Sweet Rose.

 I used MFT Linen background stamp and the same ink as the card stock base to give it some texture.

Decided to round the bottom corner of all the pieces.

Cardz TV challenge #5

Mary over at CARDZ TV is having a challenge using Butterflys, Birds, or Bees Challenge #5.

I figured it would be perfect to use this new stamp set that I recently picked up at Micheal's, its a Hero Arts stamp set the numbers are CL867.

I also wanted to try a Jennifer McGuire technique but I could not get it to work right with the colors I had choosen so I scraped it and went with a traditional two step stamping. CLICK HERE to see the original idea I had going on.

 I started out by putting the stamps I wanted on my clear blocks.

I also have a mouse pad underneath because these are very solid images and that mouse pad gives extra coushin to make a clean stamped image.

I am using Crushed Curry ink on the same card stock along with Tangelo Twist ink to do the second stamping.

The card panel is 4 by 5 1/4 inches. I wrapped some thin string around the card a few times and adhered it to the back with some tape.

 I stamped the butterflys very random as if I was creating my own pattern paper.

Using Versa Fine Black Onyx ink to stamp my sentiment. 

The sentiment is from a Clearly Besotted set called Dandelion Dreams.

 I added some foam squares to the back of the pannel since this is a very clean and simple card.

Finished Card, I tied a bow on the gathered string.
