Summer Door Hangers

I decided to stop by Micheal's Sunday and found these two items for our Summer Door display.

The pineapple was 7$ and the row of ice cream was 10$.  I choose these because they were basicly single layer and no intricate designs which sometimes intimidate me when it comes to DIY wooden signs.

first up - a layer of white gesso.

7$ for the pineapple from Micheal's

before of the ice cream cone row

10$ at Micheal's

wax paper torn to size and place on my craft room floor to dry

I am using some Craft Smart paint brand that I picked up at Micheal's

nice bright happy rainbow

this mat is from Tim Holtz and it wipes clean with a wet towel or baby wipe

after the first coat was dry I added a second coat that was a little thicker

then a glob of a darker color on my mad and thinner brush

the bottom layer still wet makes it blend a bit

same with the body, after the first layer was dry i added a slightly thicker layer

as well with the cones

it was about 2 coats for each color

letting it dry

I used Vinyl that I purchased threw amazon

Dies from Stamps of Life and my Gemini Die cutting maching, its electric
and cuts intracite dies like butter - I order some replacement cutting plates just for vinyl use

some inexpensive tools in my craft room to help me take the backer off and smooth the vinyl on my project

its 60 degrees today in Alaska
outside I went to Modge Podge spray my project to seal and protect it

I love it
this goes above our door bell/below our porch light outside our front door

I think with dedicated plates I may reduce the frayed edge look
not really noticeable from afar but up close you can see a little

pineapple

he will go on the door between the screen door/main door

I can not wait until June to put these out for summer - I do not have summer time door decor and I am happy with how these turned out and I completed this project in less then one day for 17$ and I used hardly any of my already stashed supplies - paint and vinyl.

4th of July Card #1 of 2021

I wanted to use a new to me die set from Taylored Expressions and decided to make a simple card, this literaly took less then 30 minutes.

I started off by using the American Flag Cover Plate.

I cut from Stampin Up Real Red and Brillant Blue card stock.
I also used Stamps of Life Powder Sugar card stock which is recently becoming my Favorite whtie.

A card base from Bazzill in the color Licorice and two panels in Powder Sugar as well -
one for the inside and one for the front.

Adhered everything with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.

Valentines Chicken Fold It

So I made my Christmas Chicken Fold It card and now I have made the Valentines version and it is simply adorable.

I am starting off by using Powder Sugar card stock from Stamps of Life for the body.
I also used some heart dies from my stash, an easy way to figure out the size is by placing them on your project.

I used the main out line die to create a card base from Powder Sugar and a card layer from Stampin Up Strawberry Slush card stock.

I also used Real Red and Tangelo Twist for the remaing parts of my Chicken.

I added a foam dimensional to right above the arms so they would pop up and Tombow Mono Liquid Glue around the remainder of the body.

I added the remainder of the Chicken pieces with liquid glue and added dimensionals to the heart and tucked part of it under the Chicken's arms.

Matching ink to stamp my sentiments and a Pink envelope from my stash.

I used stamp sets from
Simon Says Stamp - Tons of Hearts
Cornish Heritage Farms - Pet-Tootie Sentiments
My Pink Stamper - Tweetie Hoo Puns and I Heart Punny Licous

Santa Chicken Fold It

I am OBSESSED with the Chicken Fold It from the Stamps of Life and now I want to make a card pack of this Chicken holding all the Holiday Things.

I started off with a card base of Powder Sugar by the Stamps of Life, all my white cuts.
I also used Cucumber Crush from Stampin Up, all my colored cuts to cut a single image of the Chicken.
This die has "place fold here marks" you can really put the fold anywhere, just fold the card base and tape the die on top making sure to leave the seam so the card opens and closes.

I used some of the dies from the Stamps of Life santa2stamp set to cut out the hat in Powder Sugar and Real Red.

I used Powder Sugar to cut the main Chicken out.
And Tangelo Twist for the feathers, beak, and legs.

Washi tape for the eyes, I held them down and used a black marked to color them.
Washi Tape on the back of the Chicken to adhere the eyes and beak.

I could not find a present die that would work for my Chicken in my stash.
So I made my own using Cucumber Crush and Real Red.

Dimensionals from Stampin Up on the back of my Chicken.

A White Seam Binding bow attached with a glue dot right above the chicken.
This placement will help with the bulk so it wont cost too much in postage to mail the card.

Put together the hat with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue and foam Dimensionals.

Then, I realized the foam would show behind the hat so I cut out more pieces for the hat and put them behind it and added liquid glue to the center of the hat to be able to place it on my Chicken heads.

Some Real Red ink and stamp sets from Cardz TV.
Holly Jolly for the back.
Christmas Critter Captions for the inside.

Finished Card.

Side view of the neat dimension.

Can you imagine a Box Set of this Chicken holding all the Holiday Things.  I must make soon.

Wendy Cranford is my Stampin Up Demo and yes Cucumber Crush and Tangelo Twist are Retired along with the ribbon I used but I LOVE their Dimensionals and Real Red Card Stock is Current.
