Funky Snowflake Die

I searched via Pinterest for ideas and typed Simon Says Stamp in the search button because I do have allot of their products which I love just as much as Stampin UP products and found a card by Lisa at Im In Heaven. I pretty much totally cased the card because it was just so simple and non traditional. I made four of them while watching one episode of CSI:NY on NetFlix.

Here I am cutting 1/4 inch strips of four shades of purple. I did this for each card in the coordinating shades. I cut four strips of each color.
I cut a piece of white heavy weight card stock at 3 3/14 wide by 5 inches tall and placed the Simon Says Stamp Funky snowflake die. I positioned it high enough so I would have space for my sentiment.

I don't need the the positive of the snow flake, just the negative and the star center, I will put the positive in a baggie with my dies.
Here I am placing the die cut panel on my top folding card base and putting a mark at the top and bottom to know where I need all my strips
Total random placement just making sure two of each color are not next to each other.
ATG in the center, just enough to make sure each strip will have enough glue to hold them down.
I am pulling strips from bottom and putting on top to keep my pattern.
Using the wire guide on my Fiskars trimmer to help cut off the excess strips of card stock.
