Stained Glass Sympathy Card

I never really like making sympathy cards but we do need them at times and recently saw a video on this design and new I had just gotten in a die that was similar to the die in the video.

Here is the Video, CLICK HERE.

I also made a second one but that will be going into the mail for a friend as a hello card, same design but different image and sentiment.

I need to make more monochromatic watercolor panels, so many possibilities.

I am staring off with some Strathmore watercolor paper that I have taped down to my mat.

I am doing so with a small border.

I will end up cutting the panel down and adhering it to anouther colored card stock card base.
I am using little water for the stripes.

I am also going over them as they dry to intensify the color.

This is an inexpensive water color pallet.

Not sure the brand or where I got it but I do know that I have not used it yet.

Until today.
 All done.

I let this dry for a little while before the next step.
I am using some liqutex Titanium White paint to add some small splatters.
I used this die from Simon Says Stamp called Dahlia Frame.

I cut it out four times with some Heavy Weight White card stock from Hobby Lobby.

I used my Gemini Junior cutting machine and only needed one pass threw to get perfect clean cuts.
I also used some Stampin Up Sweet Sugar Plum card stock to just cut out the flower portion so that later I can inlay the flower.

I am also using this as my card base and I am making a top folding A2 card.
I am using Simon Says Stamp Fine Detail Embossing Powder to stamp my sentiment which is also a stamp set from them called Tiny Words.

My Hampton Art Stamp Perfect Tool really helps with this since I used watercolor paper.

I was able to stamp twice just fine.
I used Glossy Accents to fill in after I added the inlay pieces to the flower.

Tiny dabs of Tombow Mono Liquid glue to adhere the inlay pieces.
Fun Foam with some double sided adhesive to give even raised dimension to my card.

Do not need a saggy card especially for a Sympathy one.
Finished card

Inside of card using a Hero Arts Stamp set that also has the prayers die with it if you want to use it in a different way.

CAS(E) this Sketch #133

I decided to play along with anouther Sketch Challenge and found and old but goodie, CAS(E) this Sketch #133.

This is an throwback to an Older Sketch.

Would you like to follow and play along, CLICK HERE.

For this card I am using Stampin up card stock and ink along with Stamps of Life stamps and dies.

I cut the pot and two flowers out.
Small amounts of Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to the flower.
I used a small dot of Tombow Mono Liquid glue to ensure the enamel dot will stay put.
Easy to make banners with a good pair of small scissors.

These banners are 1 inch and 3/4 inch wide.
I added some foam adhesive to the flower watering pot.
I used some removable adhesive to hold the card closed while I splatterd some Vintage Photo distress paint on the card front for some added interest and texture.
I was in the Stamps of life Die Hard Club for almost 5 years, I had to stop in April due to moving to Alaska and help with finances.

I am hoping to re join soon.

This was my last club set and dies.
There are 19 dies that go with this stamp set.
This is the stamp set from Stamps of Life called garden2grow.
Finished card.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #448

I decided to play along with My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge, they have one every Wednesday and this one is #448.

I am using a combination of My Favorite Things, Stampin Up, and Lawn Fawn..

I am using some Bristol Smooth card stock to make blending ink easier.

I have some purple painters tape that I have rubbed on my pants a few times to remove the sticky just a little bit.

I am using the grid lines on my mat to get the right spacing.
I am using an older Let It Snowflake die set.

The smaller one.
I am also using some new to me blender brushes from Taylored Expressions.
After removing the tape I replace with the same spacing.

I do this to get three rows that are about 3/4 inch wide and diagonal like the card sketch.
Using my Gemini Junior to cut the snowflake out.

I am using Baja  Breeze card stock and ink for this project.

Unfortunetly its a retired color.
I decided to use some Wow embossing powder in Silver Pearl on top of the snowflakes.

I used a scrap piece of card stock and some temporary adhesive to add the snowflakes.
Here they are after I have embossed them.
I am using my Hampton Art Stamp Perfect Tool to get the perfect placement and to stamp twice if I need too.
I am using fun foam for even raised dimension. I tried to find a color close to my card stock. White works as well but I have a big box to go threw.
I am using a little dab of Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to adhere each snowflake.
Finished Card.
