Lattice Card Idea #2

Alivia needed a card for her 5th grade Teacher, she said she recently had to put her cat down and wanted a card.

A perfect time to try out the Lattice Card again, this time a Trellis Version.

I also brought out a new flower die that I recently got from the Stamps of Life.

I began making a frame with my rectangle dies A2 from Waffle Flower.

I am using the Stamps of Life Powder Sugar card stock.

This is a sentiment strip die from Simon Says Stamp that is the perfect width and length.

After running threw a Wood Grain embossing folder I inked the edges with a Light Grey ink from my stash.
Narwhal from Lawn Fawn.

I am using score tape/sticky strip around the edges of the frame.

Eye ball it.

Cut off edges and save the longer pieces.

I added some more tape and then crossed them.
Added some Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to the centers.

I cut my card base like normal.
After scoring I cut off the other half leaving about just a shy of 1/2 inch.

This created a hinge.
I sand whiched the hinge with the lattice and the second frame.

It creates a see threw design.

Using my Sizzix Side Kick.
I used some Retired Card Stock from Stampin Up.

I inked the edges with the matching ink.
Using Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes - the mini ones.

My glass mat helps with inking and is easy to clean.

Stampin Up dimensionals.

Tucked in the leaves.

Finished Card front.

How it looks flat.
The cat die is from my stash.
Huge Hugs came from a Card Kit from the Stamps of Life.

I added a top flap to the inside.
I inked and embossed just like the front.
Except I used Manatee ink by Lawn Fawn which is a little darker but it works.

Used the extra flower and cart on the inside to bring interest.
I used Chocolate Chip ink for my sentiment stamping.

The back of the card.

Lattice Card Idea #1

The Lattice card has been floating on YouTube lately and Social Media as well and I wanted to give it a shot.

I am making two cards for this design.
I am making a top fold design because I have seen this work best for the design.
I cut at 4 1/4.

I scored the cards at 5 1/2.
I then took 1/2 inch strips off the bottom - Six to be exact.

I am putting them threw a wood embossing folder.
This step is optional.
I will next time stamp my sentiment first if I use the design again with the embossing folder.

It looks like this.
I put the Embossing folder to the fold line.
It is from Stampin Up.

All other supplies are from the Stamps of Life.
I am using matching ink to bring out the wood lines.
I did use Taylored Expressions blending brushes for this - the mini ones.

I am using the lines on my glass mat to help space out my wood panels.
I did have to trim a sliver off when I was done because it was a little short on the front.

Make sure you place your washi or low tack tape on and off your cloths a few times to get rid of some of the tack - Tombow Mono Liquid glue to hold the back planks down.

Gently and Slowly remove the washi tape.

This is the tiny sliver I had to cut off.
You can put the two planks on the front if you want - I have see this both ways all over the internet.

I am using the Flowers w/Sign Background Dies.
I love these dies because they have little tick marks that make paper piecing very easy.

A little double sided tape and Tombow Glue.

These flower worked out perfectly because the center lined up with the vertical planks of the card.

Love the Stamps of Life Ribbon.
These tweezers hold the know so I can double it.

Finished two cards.

I decided to add a side cut with the ribbon ends.

Look how neat it is when it opens.
My ribbon is also from the Stamps of Life - a card kit most likely or a Ribbon Pack that they sometimes sell on their website.

Back and inside of the cards.
You can write your message on the inside near the top or even on the back.
One the back of the card I used a stamp set from a card kit called Sweet Moments also from the Stamps of Life.

Wishing You Well

Alivia asked for a Get Well card for her old 4th grade teacher who had a surgery.

This card took me 1 whole day to finish because I kept changing my mind.

I did end up making two of them between all the oopsies during the process.

I used my Hampton Art Stamping Tool.
A Deckle Edge Die form the Stamps of Life.
Vanilla card stock also from the Stamps of Life.
Certainly Celery ink and card stock as well from Stampin Up.

I had to re ink my ink pad a few time until I go the right stamping.

Here are all my oopsies before I found two good ones.
A tip also is to let your ink dry a for a few good minutes to let the ink seep and infuse in the paper.

I am using a flower die from a set I am not sure where it came from but I do know its from the Stamps of Life.
Also my Sizzix Side kick to do the die cutting at my desk and my Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to off set the flowers.

I used Grape and Pixie card stock from the Stamps of Life for one card.

Some mini dimensionlas from Stampin Up.

My Leaves and Sentiment came from Taylored Expressions.
Mini Strip - Floral and Hold My Blooms.

There are dies that match these Mini Strips sentiments.
Line up the square and tape down.

I stamped with the lighter ink on Vanilla card stock.
I also used the lighter card stock to back the vanilla and added layer behind for even dimension.

Finished Card.

Side View
I used Trinity Stamps Embellishment Mix in the color Dense Forest and Fresh Fig

These flowers are Blue Jay and Ocean card stock and ink.

Inside I left blank.
