CAS(E) this Sketch 136

The sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch is a pretty simple one that I figured can adapt to any occasion. I chose to make a Fall/Thanksgiving card but I see my self using this sketch to make any other Holiday cards.

I used a stamp set from Karen Foster design called Thanksgiving.

I used the two outline leafs and some Baked Brown Sugar ink.

I masked off about an inch spot and after stamping I used three different inks and did some blending.

I used from left to right, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, and Bravo Burgundy.
This was so quick and easy I made up five of them, I was going to make them a one layer card but changed my mind because I wanted to add some twine.

The Happy Thanksgiving sentiment is from a Papertrey ink Back to Basics set.
I cut them down to 4 by 5 1/4 and used the cheater method and taped of the ends to the back of the card.

I used some Celebrate It ribbon/twine from last years Christmas section in Micheal's.
I purchased these wood element from Hobby Lobby they are called craft embellishments.

I adhered them with glue dots.

I went and cut some 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 Hello Honey panels to adhere to some traditional top folding cards.

I added some foam to the back of the inked panel before putting on the card.
Close up, I wanted to use More Mustard card stock but I was out and it turns out the Hello Honey matches very well to More Mustard.

Finished Card

Back to School Treat Bags and Teacher Gifts 2015

I am entering this into the Lawnscaping challenge called back to school

This year I decided to do some back to school treat bags and began to search pinterest.

I found a free printable for the teacher gifts and also the school bus idea that I made it my own by using my supplies in my stash.

Alivia filling her bags, she has seven kids in her pre school. This is her first year and we are making eight bags just in case they get another student.
Just guessing and by going by last years count from Kindergarten were making 25 for Alexis 1st grade class.

After we filled and sealed the bags we put the topper on the bags.
All on sale over at Target.

I bought two 25 count boxes of fruit strips and saved what I didn't use and put in the girls snack cupboard, about $5 a box.

I bought a giant pack of skittle and star burst for $8 I had four of each left.

Three bags of mini yogurt raisins for about $2.25 a bag.
The bag sizes are about 4 by 6 and I purchase them at Hobby Lobby in the jewelry section, they have many different sizes and I like to pick up a pack each time I go there.

This is the back of the treat topper. Using some Dollar Store foam squares There were 60 squares in the pack and I used one whole package plus a few from a different package
I used Doodle Charms Cricut Cartridge page 117 at 2 3/4 inches

I used Craft Smith 12X12 paper I purchased at Micheal's on sale under $5 a pack.

I used the paper saver and auto fill button to get the most cuts from my 12X12 paper.

White brads from my stash for the wheels, a jelly roll pen to make the cute faces and a My Pink Stamper School stamp set for the stamping.

The paper is from a stack by Micheal's my mom got me a while back.

These are the stuff inside the mason jars.

The pen and nail polish I picked up at the Dollar Store and every thing else I purchased from Walmart.

The gum came in a pack of three so I bought two and the chocolate had enough for two pieces per mug
 All filled up.
 Side view
I cut out the printable and added a hole with a hole punch.
Alivia has three pre school teachers.

I used Lawn Fawn Alphas to spell out from "heart" alivia and she helped me stamp the back of them.
Alexis has one main teacher and also a Literacy teacher, she also helped me stamp the back of the print ables.
All done.

Freshly Made Sketches #198

This isn't my favorite but I am using scraps and dies that I don't use often, giving old product some love and I give away allot of Christmas cards is card boxes to teachers and coaches, families and friends so this was a simple and fast card that I made two of them.

Head on over to Freshly Made Sketches and play along with sketch #198.

Using scraps of American Crafts glitter paper and Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, and Baked Brown Sugar to cut out layers from The Holiday Layered Tree die from Simon Says Stamp.
Ive pre cut my pieces and have them ready to assemble.
Again I love lining up dies and stamps on my grid paper and it helps to know the size of the mat I need.

Liquid glue to adhere the die cuts.
Liquid glue to adhere the panel to the glitter panel which made it a little warp so I kinda used a bunch of foam on the back.
Finished card.

the sentiment is inside the card.

CAS(E) this Sketch #135

I decided to go risky with this sketch and make a shaker card for Halloween very kid friendly to boot. Head on over to CAS(E) this Sketch to play along too.

I started off by using a My Favorite Things stencil and some Pumice Stone distress ink to make a cool back ground for my card.
I used a circle die to cut out a corner of the background, any circle dies will do from any company just use what you have in your stash.
I have some Pumpkin Pie card stock and two more circle dies to make a ring to finish off the circle on the card front.
I am using a Stamp set called Eek and some Smokey Slate ink.
Some strong double sided tape and a scrap piece of a page protector.
Using a crazy amount of foam to make the shaker stuff contained and also to level the card mat.

I used Doodle Bug sequins/
If you don't stamp great theres always a back side if your using good quality paper, that was my first attempt at stamping the spider.

Here I am covering up the shaker window.
Finished card.

Close up.

Christmas Card 2015 #1

I recently watched two videos from Jennifer McQuire Ink You Tube channel and combined the techniques into one card and I love how it turned out and made two at once.

I cut my 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 panel at an angle, any angle will do use whatever you prefer.
To make it easier I went direct from pad to paper to get full coverage of ink and make it faster.

I then added some green perfect pearls and wiped off excess with a cloth.

I used Mowed Lawn distress ink.

I used a Paper Studio Holiday embossing folder, use the directions for which machine you have in your craft room.

I added some red stickels to the berries.
Using some American Crafts glitter paper and a merry die by Stamps of Life.

I added some double sided adhesive to the back of the glitter paper to make sticking down the die cut easier.
I always save my old blades from my fiskars trimmer and use them to cut glitter paper, I just use a permanent marker and write old on them.
Using some double sided strong tape on the back of the embossed piece but you can also use liquid glue if you prefer.
A little strip of Tombow liquid glue at the top and added a strip of glitter paper to the edge.
I changed out the glitter merry die for the same green technique I used for the main panel, just didn't emboss it.

Close up, the pearl powder gives it a metal type look.
