MFT (My Favorite Things) color challenge #100

Unfortanitely I did not use any MFT products on this card, I could not find any in my stash that would work with how the card was turning out.

I decided to go for some paint smearing technique, you know from the all mighty Jennifer McGuire Ink a while back she posted a video.

I believe this card would be FANTASTIC for a Veteran or a Soldier overseas during the Holiday season, tell me what you think in a comment.

I started off by picking colors close to the challenge.

I chose Daler Rowney paint in the colors Crimson, Yellow Ochre, Coeruleum, and light blue.

Some water color paper from my stash as well.
I at first did all four colors.
Then I rearranged the blues and tried again.

Then I had an aha moment and thought, Kraft Card base with the reds and blues paint dragged and add snowflakes over it.
I used some Silver Pearl embossing powder to embossing the snow flakes X3.

They are wooden and from my abundance stash.

Tombow Mono Liquid glue to adhere all the things.

Heavy Weight White card stock to cut out the sentiment.
All done, this is with out the flash on my camera

This one is with my flash on

Here is a close up, so glad and happy with how it turned out.

An all American Christmas card and totally no traditional colors.

JOY card with a Snowflake in the center

I searched JOY cards on Pinterest and found a few I really liked but did not have the supplies I needed to re create so as I was looking threw my stash I found a bunch of wooden snowflakes and decided to roll with it.

I am using a Lid from an old box to hold my snowflakes while I heat emboss them.

It protects my hands from getting burned and keeps the piece from falling.
Here it is with three layers of white heat embossing.
I used heavy weight white card stock and cut out the J and Y four times and glued them together with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.
I decided I wanted a little color for this card so I versa marked half the snowflake and added some blue powder, then after that heat set and cooled I did it again and added some glitz embossing powder on top of the blue.

The cricut spatula works great to pick up the wooden and card stock heat embossed peices.
I was going to use a white card base with a white wood grain embossed mat but I believe that was too much white.

I added again blue then glitz embossing powder and Tombow Mono Liquid glue to adhere to my card front because the mat got a bit warped.

I trimmed the edges of the card stock card base to make it even.
I am using a wood grain textured embossing folder as well.
Finished card

Close up, one day I will be able to have more white space but fore now its just to hard for me not to have texture and color and embellishments.

Broom Halloween Card

I recently brought out my Cricut Expression machine and began using it again. I decided to make a Halloween Card and looked threw the images from the Create A Critter 2 cartridge and found the broom and wanted to see if I could create some dimension with the bristles and also make it a not so scary or kiddy card and I think I achived that idea.

I used Crumb Cake and Crushed Curry card stock to cut out the broom.

I also used my Gypsy to help with sizing my image.

I added Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to the first layer.
I used the Create A Critter 2 cartridge and the broom is on page 56.
After using Tombow Mono Liquid glue to adhere the first layer I then added a glue dot to the second layer and off set it a little.

I then added a dimensional to the final layer and offset that as well.
I again used my gypsy tool to size an Oval and Scallop Oval.

I used the Cricut Font and Basic Shapes.

I cut it out on white first to see if it would work with my broom and was satisfied and re cut with the paper I wanted.
Using some extra pattern paper I made some banners for the inside of the card.

I used my Hexagon punch to make the banner end.
Finished card.

I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink.

I added the broom and polka dot paper with regular Tombow Mono Liquid Glue and added the whole thing with foam squares that I recently purchased from the Dollar store to see how they work.

Here is the inside of the card.
The back of the card, I brought in Cajun Craze ink because that matched the paper on the front of the card.
I choose a Kraft envelope to match the card.
Here is the back of the envelope.

Halloween Card with Pumpkins and Ghosts

I have always wanted to recreate this card and finally decided to do it with the supplies I have in my stash.

I started off with some Heavy Weight black card stock and a Spider Web embossing folder.
I used some Oval and Circle dies from my stash, one has stitching and one ahs some x stitching on it.
I used the retired Owl Builder Punch from Stampin Up to make my cute ghost.
I used not only Tombow Mono Liquid Glue but also some Stampin Up regular dimensionals to add the pumpkins.
I used an orange envelope and decorated the outside and back using Tnagelo Twist ink and Soft Suede ink to match the card stock I used in my card design.

 The back of the card.
 The inside of the card.
the finished card

I used Gumball Green card stock and the same punch to make the leaves.

Christmas Wreath card with Snowflakes

Again I am using the new to me Spellbinders Four Seasons Wreath die that I purchased from Hobby Lobby to make a Snowflake Wreath.  Here is my Inspiration card idea.  I really like the teal blue with white so to make it my own I used a grey background and added sequins instead of the glossy accents and liquid pearls that the other card has.

Here is my take on a traditional Christmas wreath Click Here

I am using Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes and rectangle dies.

Also the Spellbinders Four Seasons wreath die

Again just laying out my design, I love to make multiple cards at once if I can.

I used Stampin UP card stock in Smokey Slate, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, and Bermuda Bay.

Here are the two different designs I came up with.

Using Tombow Mono Liquid Glue and Stampin UP mini and regular dimensionals as well.
Just makeing sure my die fits.

I used a Silver card stock also from Stampin UP.
Finished Card, I used Marshmallow and Aquamarine in 4 and 6 mm sizes

I decorated the envelopes in the matching ink color of the card stock.
The inside of the cards, useing the extra snow flakes I cut out along with Early Espresso ink.
Second card, I used sequins in the color Marshmallow and Cornflower, sizes 4 and 6 mm.
