California Vacation 2015 Tinkerbell Insert Side #1 and #2

Just slowly working on out Vacation Album from October 2015 when Me, Alexis, Alivia, Grandma, and Grandpa went to California.

I decided to work on the insert that will before the pictures of the girls meeting some of the Fairies from Pixie Hollow at Disney Land.

These two inserts are sized at just 8 1/2 by 11, that gives our Album a little interest and pizzaz I feel.

I love this wireless printer, its a HP ENVY 5660.

Here I am just easily adding some So Saffron Stampin UP card stock to the drawer.

I do not need to change any setting when changing out the 8 1/2 by 11 paper.
I found this quote on google and after I printed it on the So Saffron, which is a nice subtle yellow color I trimmed it down.

I then pulled out a piece of Old Olive which is also a Stampin UP colored card stock.
I thought it needed a pop of black so I pulled out a piece of black card stock and matted the yellow on top of it and used just regular tape runner adhesive to adhere them all together.

I added some gold enamel dots to the page to just dress it up a little and give it the Tinkerbell Sparkle.
All Finished

A little close up

This next printable will go behind the quote piece, I will put both in an 8 1/2 by 11 page protector.

Here I have a black 8 1/2 by 11 piece of Basic Black  card stock by Stampin UP and I used regular tape runner adhesive to adhere a piece of gold glitter paper on top that I had purchased from Hobby Lobby.
To attach the printable which I printed on heavy weight white card stock from Hobby Lobby I am using Tombow Mono Liquid Glue because it adheres better to the glitter paper.
All finished

Beach Vacation Ocober 2015 (pocket Style)

Here is the final part of our Beach Day during out California Vacation in October of 2015.

I decided to take the final photos I took during that day and scrapbook them pocket style or as many people call it Project Life.

I did make two traditional 12X12 Layouts of each of my girls as well as an 8 1/2 by 11 inch insert of some Beach printable's to begin the start of the Beach section of our California Vacation Album.

I will put links those at the end of this post.

I used a Becky Higgins Design D page protector for this Pocket Style Layout.

I purchased so beach related 12X12 pattern paper from Hobby Lobby and used my 3X4 Project Life die and also my corner rounder for when I cut out 4X6 pieces.
I love taking 4X6 cards and making them into 3X4 cards just by using the die.

I used some Clearance from Hobby Lobby Echo Park Journal cards.
Again this is a 4X6 card and I love the sentiment because the beach was an unkown to use and we did explore it all day long.
I used the extra of that card to add some extra touch to these two cards that I cut in half and made a 4X6 card, it also hit the seam in the middle.

The picture is of a Naval boat, we were on the Naval Beach in San Diego, California.
When I complete a layout that is front to back I like to glue the two pictures together so they wont move around in the pockets.

The 4X6 with the washi tape in the middle is two 3X4 attached together to make a 4X6
I am using some Simple Stories alpha stickers to dress up some of the photos.
I think Simple Stories is one of my favorite brand of alpha stickers for Pocket Style layouts.
The Simple Stories alpha stickers come in a variety of colors and sizes and they are flat so they do not add alot of bulk to your pages.
For my journaling I like to write it out on some scrap paper to see if it will fit on my card.

Storing My Paper Clips

Here is the before of how I used to store my Paper Clips, in lots and lots of zip lock bags in a basket.
I would have to dig threw and sort them to find the colors I wanted and then have to separate and pull out the colors I needed.

I had these two empty containers that I am not even sure where they came from but I had not put anything in them so I decided you know what I am going to put my paper clips in them.

They hold alot and I still have some room to grow and it took me just about half hour to complete.

Reindeer Paper Clips

Paper Clips, Who does not love paper clips especially when they are dressed up as cute Reindeer.

Here I am using the Bird Builder punch from Stampin Up which I am sad to say they are retiring this at the end of May 2016.

I am using Early Espresso card stock.

I cut strips into about 3/4 inches wide that way I would not waste as much card stock.
The Owl Builder punch is so versatile.

I cut the body in Crumb Cake card stock, and again I cut my paper to about 2 inches wide to reduce the waste.
Using Whisper White card stock about half an inch wide, using the biggest circles on the punch.

I am making about 20 so putting them in piles makes the process easier.
Basic Black card stock also cut about half an inch wide the middle size circles on the punch.
Using the medium circle again and about half an inch thick I am cutting up so red foil paper.

I am using a 6X6 craft smith foil pack.
The owls wont cry I promise, just snip off those legs.
Very lightly with Crumb Cake ink go around the owl body, just one will do.

You need two body's per paper clip.
And this is the difference of the inking, the top body's are inked and the ones on the bottom are not inked.
The aftermath of the legs and inking.
I find it easier and less messy to just tape the horns (leaves) on the back of the inked body.
Add a small foam dot on the bottom middle of the body and place the red foil nose on top.
I used Tombow Mono liquid glue to adhere the eyes down.

I used a brown Project Life pen to add little freckles and eye brows to the reindeer face.

I used a white gel pen to add little white marks on the black part of the eyes.
I found it easier to add the eyes with my Quick Stick and putting some Tombow glue down on an acrylic block.
While I waited for my glue gun to heat up I picked out 20 white paper clips, half small and half large.

I also added three foam pieces near the top of the body.

This will create more stability to your paper clip owl.
Finished paper clips, I added some hot glue to the top part of the clips and placed the second part of the body on top..

Scarecrow Card

I saw THIS card on Pinterest and absolutely LOVED it and wanted to recreate it using the product I have in my own craft room.

I stated off by cutting two pieces of card stock, both at 3 inches by 2 3/4.

I used Crumb Cake and Soft Suede because I had the matching ink as well but you can use what ever you have in your craft room.

If you do not have matching ink for the card stock you can use versa mark ink and it will give you a tone on tone look.
I used a hard wood background stamp but you could also use a embossing folder and ink up the inside before running it threw your big shot.

I also cut a card base just shy of 3 inches wide.

I added some extra foam tape along the center to attach the hat brim and regulare tape runner to attach the panels.
For the brim i cut a 3/4 inch wide by 4 1/4 inch long piece and stamped it as well.

I used some circle dies and cut out pieces in Whisper White, Crushed Curry, and Delightful Dijon.

I glued them down with Tombow Mono Glue.
I realized those circles were too small so I cut them one size bigger.
I cut the circle in half, then half again, and those half's into half's.
I used a .08 Project Life pen to draw a squiggle line and some dashes for his mouth.
Finished Card.

Close up, I added a bow attached with glue dots using some ribbon from my stash.
