PTI Make it Monday #210

Over at Papertrey Ink their Make it Monday challenge is to use Vellum to soften up patterns.

I need a graduation card for my cousin and figured I could use it to make an elegant and not traditional type of graduation card.

Here I am setting up my supplies.

I am using Stampin UP ink in Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow, and I also brought in Lost Lagoon later.

I am using Naturals Ivory by Stampin Up for my card stock.

I set up all my flower and leave images on to acrylic blocks to make stamping faster and easier.

I am using a Papertrey Ink stamp set called Ruby Reprise.

I also cut some flowers from Masking Paper and used my Cricut Spatula to help remove them.
The left piece is my tester and how I figured out what not to do.

The right is the correct way.
I used the Stampin UP blender pens to help color in my not so centered stamping.
Using Stampin UP Vellum and some Sticky Strip and Multi Matte Medium to adhere the panel.

The Sticky Strip is on the back, I cut the Vellum 1/2 inch wider then my panel and score at 1/4 inch on each side to fold over the panel.

The Multi Matte Medium is put on tiny dots behind the pearls.
My card base is made of 110 lb white card stock from Micheal's.

I added a 1 inch strip of black scrap to the left side and then added some cream Fun Foam cut 1/8 inch smaller then my stamped panel.
Finished card, the sentiments came from My Favorite things stamp set called Complimentary Greetings.

Pearls from Micheal's brand, I clear embossed my sentiment, I used Versa Fine Black Onyx ink.

PTI Make it Monday White on White W/a pop of color

Over at the Make it Monday challenge blog at Paper Trey Ink the challenge was to use white on white die cuts and add a pop of color.

I started off by cutting allot of LOVE dies from the set called LOVE from Wonderful Words by Paper Trey ink.

I used Bazzill paper for the pinks in Cotton Candy and Watermelon Sensation.

The white is from my stash.
I brought out my Xyron sticker maker for the first time and its an OK tool.
The love die cuts were just a tad to large to fit two at a time in my sticker make but I dint want to waste all that tape so I added the hearts from the die cuts as well.  I ended up cutting the hearts down and put them in the Avery Elle pocket that I store the die/stamp set in.
My card base is also the Cotton Candy color.

I added foam to the panel before sticking on top of the card base.

Re-Ink Stampin UP markers

Often times my reds/pinks and neutral Stampin UP writer markers dry out.  The pen tip side.

Since I am now begin to label my re-inkers to help me find them easier, Click Here to see how I have been doing this, I figured if I also need to re-ink my markers I can take the time and label like my ink pads.

I will warn you I totally over inked this marker because I forgot you only need around 20-25 drops at first then check the next day. I think I added around 50 which made my marker leak and I kept it on my table and checked it often and let the excess ink soak onto a paper towel/kleenex.

Start off by getting your marker uncapped and re-inker open.

I am using an old pair of tweezers.
Gently pull out the nib of the marker and set on some paper towels or kleenex.

Add about 20-25 drops slowly allowing them to go down the tube.

Gently push back the marker nib in using the tweezers to help not get your hands inky.

Leave marker flat on the table overnight to let the ink settle.

CAS(E) this Sketch #120

I love this sketch for the week over at CAS(E) this Sketch #120, heck I have loved them all I just wish I had more hours in the day to play away the day in my craft room.

Sorry about the lack of photos, I wasn't sure how I was going to make this card and if it would work and so I just created.

It seems my girls have been invited to allot of Birthdays here recently and their taste of cards for friends is always changing. Alivia (aka Piv) is going to her second Birthday party (not family related) and its around Mothers Day so I thought a nice flower would be a good idea.

This is a $3 stencil that I either got from Micheal's, Walmart, or Hobby Lobby.

I used Tim Holtz abandoned coral and mowed lawn for the flower and since distress ink stays wet for awhile I added some clear embossing powder on top. I heat set then added more powder right after, I did this 4 times.
After it cooled down I sponged more concentrated squeezed lemonade in the center and then gradually faded around the outside of the flower.
My card base is Stampin UP Calypso Coral, (my last sheet, sadly this color is retiring).

My sentiment is stamped in Versa Fine Black Onyx ink and from a set called Express Yourself, which is sadly not available either its an old Hostess set from Stampin UP.

Stampin UP, Labeling Re-Inkers, Ink Pads

So I have been wanting to label my re-inkers for a long time but not know the right way but I finally found a solution from a you tube video. I also applied this solution to add to my ink pads as well.

All my Stampin UP re-inkers are ontop of my ink caddy and I have to dig threw to find the one I need. Now when I need to re-ink I will do this each time until all my pads are re-inked.

Here I just took a hole punch and punched out three circles in the card stock color that matches my ink.

I added some Tombow glue and attached one circle on top of the re-inker.
Here my ink pad is open, I added an additional circle to the lid.

When you close the ink pad the label is on the top and the circle is right below it.
Here the ink pad is still open and I added the third circle inside the lid.

Here this ink pad is Smokey Slate from Stampin UP and it seems I need to re-ink this often because it seems to get dry fast and also because I do enjoy this color and use it often, its a good neutral.

I used 50 drops of re-inker first and then smoothed it out with a bone folder and then applied 50 more drops and smoothed out again.

There is still 3/4 bottle left of re-inker.

CAS(E) this Sketch #119

Over at the CAS(E) this Sketch blog its #119.

I am really enjoying this blog because the sketches have been really easy to use. I made two Birthday cards with it in under 45 minutes.

I start off with some scrap black card stock and on one side I used the Sizzix Adhesive Sheets and the other side I used wax paper and then my die.

The stamp and die set is from Stamps of Life called birdcage2stamp and its their latest club set for April 2015.
I am using Stampin UP card stock and ink in Calypso Coral and So Saffron.

The black ink is Versa Fine Black Onyx ink.

The sentiment is another set from Stamps of Life called trees2build
I am using my T-Squared ruler and a Zig pen to make a line to look like its a floating bird cage.

I adhered the sentiment with foam and added a pop of color with some Calypso Coral card stock.

Storage 2015 : Sequins

First segment in my Storage 2015 will be my Sequin Cubby.

I have a big nine cube cupboard that is supposed to be used in your pantry or kitchen for food goods (my parent gave it to me one Christmas), this thing almost reaches my ceiling.  Eight of the cubes are just shy of 12X12 and the ninth is basically two cubes next to each other except no divider.

I have a majority of different company's sequins that range from the cheapest and not best quality to some that are a bit more pricey but also color coordinate with allot of other products.

Here is the cubby emptied out, I have my Cricut Cartridges next to it.

Here are three very inexpensive organizers that are not my favorite and will not purchase again, (these are the first I ever bought). They were under $3 at Hobby Lobby.  These hold my cheaper sequins and not the best quality, they have come from the Dollar store to Hobby Lobby or Micheal's.
Here are the Craft Mates containers that I have found at Hobby Lobby and Micheal's in the Jewelry department and I normally purchase with a coupon.

I love these, I have my Studio Calico and Lawn Fawn sequins in here.

I will eventually grab another to put my Martha Stewart shaker stuff in them.
Here are my Pretty Pink Posh sequins in the big Craft Mates snap containers also purchased from Hobby Lobby or Micheal's with a coupon.

I have them color coded and grouped with the three different sizes she has.

I cut off part of the packaging with the name on them and put them into one of each of the colors.
Here is how I fill the cubby. I also have some doodle bug and Stampin UP sequins that still need containers that I will eventually get.

The greenish three compartment container I purchased from Target dollar spot that has some random fall sequins.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge April Showers/Spring Flowers

Over at the Wednesday Challenge Blog at Simon Says Stamp, the challenge is spring and or flowers.

Again I am using a product that I haven't used since I purchased well I don't remember when maybe this year.  The reason I love challenges because they make me thing outside the box and go for product I haven't used.

I made two of these cards as I usually like to make two cards per challenge to build up my stash.

To help figure out the size of my white panel I used my grid mat and lined up the stamps of the mat.

I am using Stamps of Life card stock for the white and the dark brown card base.

The stamp set is from Simon Says Stamp called "Floral Bookmarking".
My green and purple card stock matches the ink from Stampin UP in the color Wisteria Wonder and Wild Wasabi.

I adhered the colored panels with adhesive and the white panel with foam.
Using Multi Matte Medium and some tweezers I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh sequins in the two corners of the panel, some behind the white.

Colors 4mm Sparkling Clear and 6 mm in Espresso and Pansy Purple.

CAS(E) this Sketch #117

Over at CAS(E) this Sketch #117 its a very simple and easy sketch that can be used with stamps, dies or punches. Its just so versatile.  I used two different stamp sets that I haven't used yet since I purchased probably around two months ago.

I made two of these in just about 20 minutes.

Also another new product it this T-Squared ruler I just purchased from Hobby Lobby.

This is a single layer card on The Stamps of Life White card stock.

I made two lines to guide my stamping.

I also used the 1/2 inch corner rounder on all four corners.
I am using My Favorite Things Hybrid ink in Black Liquorice and a two step stamp set from Stampin UP called "Mothers Love", its a hostess set so I am not sure if its still available.

I used my giant eraser from the Dollar Store to erase my lines after my ink was dry, it didn't take long at all maybe five minutes.
I used Stampin UP ink in Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry for the second step and the sentiment is from a Technique Tuesdays called "Thanks", its from their Say It Line.
