Our December Story 2015 Day 4

Here is Day 4 of our 2015 12X12 Our December Story Album.

In the photos you will see that I put DAY 7 for the title card, well lets just say I blogged about DAY 7 right before I decided to work on DAY 4, I fixed that after this post.

Would you like to see the making of the 12X12 Our December Story Album, CLICK HERE.

Here is the Day 4 layout I will be working on, I am using a Design G page protector from Becky Higgins.
I believe these are the Paper Studio brand from Hobby Lobby, their pocket/project life cards.

I adhere the two together on the back with some washi tape and then round the corners.
This strand of light stickers I purchase one year from the $1 spot from Target, I wanted to tie into the detail from the placemat, they have light strands over them.
I removed the original foam adhesive and added some new foam adhesive, I also reinforced some of the string that was coming apart.
Here I am just laying out some random blue snowflake 3X4 cards out to see which one will work.

I will end up trimming the Dear Santa 4X6 card into a 3X4 card.
I used part of the Dear Santa card, the blue dots and put it next to Alexis making the rope dog toys.

These are some Tim Holtz word stickers, the one I use is accualy a Thanksgiving/Fall themed but since we were making dog toys to donate I thought it was appropriate.

it says "there is always something to be thankful for.
LOL I still do not notice that I am not doing day 7 but accualy working on day 4.

I took and rounded the corners and added some Hobby Lobby washi tape, new this year to their store.

Using some American Craft Thickers in white called Rockabye.

Finished Layout.

Close up, I left the Dear Santa card with out embellishments.
I added a word sticker to one of our Elf photos, this one says "do you believe in Santa",
The only embellishment for these cards were the light bulb sticker chain.
I decided to add some enamel heart shapes to the end of the sticker phrase.
I added anouther word sticker to this Elf photo that says "it's nice to be a bit naughty".

I found that fiting since he got into the stickers and added them all over him self.

Our December Story 2015 Day 7

I decided to work on some of Our December Story pages from 2015, I decided to go with Day 7 because it was just three photos on a Design I Project Life by Becky Higgings page protector.

At the very end of this post will be links to the products I used if avaliable, if not available I will still put the names of the products I used.

Would you like to see how I created my 12X12 Our December Story Album, CLICK HERE.

I am taking a 4X6 card and cutting it down to a 4X4 since Design I is three 4X4 going down on both sides
I like to add a small amount of dry adhesive to stick the two cards together, it helps them from sliding around it the pocket and keeps it uniform.
I am using a word sticker and small flair sticker to add some detail to our Polka Dot Stripe Elf photo.
Wax paper is a great to check to see if your Thickers will fit.

This is a 4X4 card that I just rounded the corners.
I decided the DAY 7 needed to be grounded because it just looked too plain.

I used a set of trees clustered together with some silver foiling.
Tomobow Mono Glue to adhere the trees down, I added a clear block on top just until the glue dried, it does not take long.

I add my DAY 7 on top of the trees.

This cursive love word sticker went perfect with Alexis poising of her Christmas shirt.

I just used my scissors to cut off the hanging piece, I tried to place it so you can still see her pointing to the bow on her shirt.
This will be the first set of three you see.

Top Picture.
I decided not to embellish this card for now, that may change over time.

Middle Photo.
I added a word sticker as well that says, may your days be merry & bright.

I may add a little embellishment to one of the ends of that sticker but for now I am calling it done.
 The back side.

Top Photo, this was a 4X6 that I also cut down to a 4X4.
 Middle Photo.

Can you tell I went with a tree type thing for this page.
 Bottom Photo.

I am not picky on where I place the date/day cards because as long as its near the photos its OK.
Ya, I do not know how to turn the photos so this is a full shot.

Thanksgiving cards for Teachers 2016

I took inspiration from THIS card that I found on Pinterest to make Thanksgiving cards to go with their gift.

Would you like to see how I put their gift together, CLICK HERE.

The Teacher Gift, Tea Light center piece with a pretty box.
I started with a thankful die and cut out 4 from Crumb Cake card stock.

I also made 4 Crumb Cake card stock card bases.

I organily purchased a set of black card & envelope set 20 of them for $1 at the $1 spot of Target but did not realize the black card was an awful white and not a folded card.
I am using a Kraft Christmas Doilie from Micheal's last year and cutting two in half.

I am still going to use the envelopes from the $1 cards because hey 20 envelopes for $1 you can not beat that, I will give the awful white blank paper to the girls.
I use dry adhesive for the doilie, on on the flat side.

I used thin foam on the back of the thankful die.
I finished it off with some thin twine.

I love that these are simple and cute.

Thanksgiving Teacher's Gifts 2016

OK, we got a new store in the mall that is kind of like a Bed Bath and Beyond and also like a Gordmans/TJMax and I wanted to recreate a tea light display for teachers gifts because of course I can make it.

I am using some glass saucers and jars from Micheal's Craft Store and some E6000 glue along the bottom to adhere them.
I cut out some 2 inch circles from some Heavy Weight cream card stock, inked the edges in Baked Brown Sugar and stamped A Day of Gathering with Crushed Curry Ink.

I adhere it to the top of the lid with some Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.
I am using some hot glue to adhere different fake leaves in Fall Colors.
Adding some Fall leaves next, trimming them off this wreath formation that it came on.

I ended up glueing 5 leaves down around/ontop of the orange and yellow leaf twig stuff.
I got some of these Fall ball color things and I took them off the twig wreath thing and removed them from the wire as well.

I ended up glueing 3 colors on 3 of the 5 leaves.
                                                     The packaging and finished project.

I added a tea light plus and extra battery.
With the lights down.

I am using some bigger leaves and clustering them in threes.

This one package had enough plus extra for my five box toppers.

$1.99 of course on sale
I stapled them in the center.
I stamped Happy Thanksgiving in Baked Brown Sugar Ink on the same Heavy Weight Cream card stock.
I am using a Stampin UP Acorn Punch and some embossing folders from my stash, a wood grain type and a dot one.

I am using Baked Brown Sugar and Crumb Cake card stock from Stampin UP as well.
I inked them in their cordinating ink to give them some texture.
I made my own box using some 12X12 textured card stock.

Here is the website I used to help me with the box dimensions.

I am adding some fallish ribbon and taping in the center now bow.

Ribbon from the Fall line from Micheal's.
I added some inexpensive foam circles to the back of the leave cluster.
I made a banner end and added the acorn to the banner as well.

I hot glued just the acorn down on top of the staple.

Rosette Reindeer

Rosette Reindeer Ornaments!

I follow May May Made It on Face Book and You Tube, she posted a Video on how to make Reindeer Ornaments.  Would you like to see it, CLICK HERE.

I took some Stampin UP 12X12 Early Espresso card stock and cut it into four pieces.

They measure 6X6.

I scored down the middle one time at 3 inches.
I folded it in half and put the card stock in my paper trimmer.

I lined it up with each one of the ends in the cutting slots and sliced in half.
After I scored at every 1/2 inch I then added some score tape to the bottom.
 How it looks folded.
I removed the score tape and folded them into a leaf shape.
I glued the two ends down so they would be behind the ornament.
How it looks, I used Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.
I added some reinforcement with some hot glue.
Adding a nice red button with some hot glue as well.

there was a pointy over hang near wear the button will be placed so I trimmed that off.
I used my crop a dile to add a hole.

The hot glue I reinforced near the holes at the top.
I attached an eyelet to reinforce the hole for the string.
 How it looks so far.
Using some Dollar Store snowflakes as antlers.
 All done.
Close UP.
