Global Design Project #082

The Sketch for the Global Design Project #082 is definitly one you can use for any occasion or theme.

I decided to go with a fall theme.

I started off by using my Big Shot and some scrap Baked Brown Sugar card stock to cut out some Stiched Leaves.
Here is how I store my scraps of Stampin Up card stock.

I keep alot of sizes in here especially if it is retired.

I had a scrap big enough to use a Striped Background stamp as well.

This makes not cutting into the regular sheets easier.
I do not know where I got this cart but it is awsome.

I have my Stampin Up card stock stored on top, the full sheets flat and the scraps up in a page protector.

I also cut a page protector on one side so that I can place the full sheets in it and then slip the other page protector in front so they are together.
I am using the Hampton Art Stamp Perfect tool to stamp my stripped back ground with cordinating ink.
It is still a little wet in this photo but I stamped it twice.
The leaves on the right I inked with the cordinating ink and the one on the left is not inked.

Look at that difference.
I am using a 110 pound Cream card stock as my card base as a top fold card as well.

I also have a scrap of the Cream and using my grid mat to see where I need to trim the scrap.
Using the Stamp Perfect tool again to stamp Happy Thanksgiving in the same ink.
Taking a Kraft Knife and making a slit at the top to thread some Thrift Store Cream twine threw.

I put one foam on each leaf and added foam to the back of the panel as well.

I wrapped the twine around three times.
Thankfully I did not press too hard and was able to remove the panel because I decided I did not want a bow like the sketch.

I added some tape to hold the ends down and placed it where the panel would hide it.
The extra leaf I added inside and I also had some extra of the striped paper so I added it to the inside as well.
More stripped and the back of the card.
Finished Card.

Side View.

I love this design and know I will use it often.

This card took under 30 minutes to make and would be easy to mass produce.

  1. What an elegant card Jennifer. Love the diagonal stripes and the sponging around the edges of the leaves really does make a huge difference. Great take on the sketch this week. Thanks for playing along with us at Global Design Project.
