Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (add a little texture)

Over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog this weeks challenge was to add a little texture.

I thought hey why not try and make a few Fourth of July cards.

I used this Water Color paper from Master's Touch that I purchased at Hobby Lobby, its already cut to 4X6 so I just had to cut it down to 5 !/2.

I also am using this Simon Says Stamp Cupcake Party stamp set that came in a Card Kit along time ago.
Testing out which side of the Water Color paper to use, I went with the smooth side.

I am using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in festive berries and salty ocean.

I spray the stamp one time after inking to give it the water color look, plus some texture.
Here I am using some old washi to mask off a picture of the stamp, its from Hobby Lobby called Lizzie Anne designs.

After my stamping has dried I take some Translucent embossing paste and thinly spread it out on my Kraft Sheet by Ranger and then use the stamps and go over the already stamped images.

I figured out to go straight down then pull off towards one side, not straight up if that makes sense.
Finished card on some Heavy Weight Black Card Stock, I stamped the sentiment in Versa Fine Black Onyx ink.

You can sort of see the texture from the translucent embossing paste, I also added some clear gems from my stash.

Inside of card is a stamp set from Hobby Lobby as well, Stampabilities.

Back of card and back of envelope.
