I started off with some 110 Pound Cream card stock that I cut in half to make two top folding cards.
I used a stylus to score and folded it while it was still on my Martha Stewart scoring board and my bone folder to smooth out the crease.
I am using Tip Top Taupe ink and card stock.
I am trying out this new set of Fiskars stamping blocks as well that I recently purchased from Hobby Lobby.
These little raised edges are supposed to help keep your fingers clean from ink.
So far so good.
I am begining to like them. this is my third and forth card making them.
I am just creating a pattern and remember to go off the page and stagger your placement.
This though is very inky but I am using the block to press down a wood veneer set of glasses into the ink pad.
I have some scrap paper on a wood clip board and going to heat embossing with clear over the inked wood veneer.
First layer.
Second layer.
I did three layers, and remember to let them cool inbetween.
I am using a ruler and pencil to lightly mark above and below the wood veneer and sentiment.
Tombow Mono Liquid glue to adhere the wood veneer pieces.
Place a clear block on top of the glasses for a bit to let the glue dry.
Finished cards. |
Look at that shine and gloss, its smooth too.
I think this can be a girl card as well because you can change out the color to a more girly color.
