I dont own any stamps that are specificly for watercoloring but I do have a set from Stampin Up, it's a hostess set called well I dont know, LOL I didn't label my box, oops. It has three images that are sketched and I figured it would be great to do the watercoloring on.
It has a nice bird in some grass image and I immediately thought of a male sympathy card. My sentiment stamp came from Stampin Ups Petite Pairs and it also has a coordinating punch.
After I finished my stamping I brought out my oval framelits by My Favorite Things and choose one that I thought did the image justice.
I embossed some Crumb Cake card stock also by Stamping up with a Sizzix embossing folder that doesn't have a name, oops again, but I did purchase it at Micheal's a few months back. I used some Crumb Cake 3/8 inch Taffeta ribbon also by Stampin up which I used some red line tape to hold it down. Just tied it in a simple not and used some Stampin Dimensionals by Stampin Up to finish off the oval center piece.
I have not finished the inside yet but I am thinking of re stamping the image along with a sympathy sentiment.
Used Tim Holt distress markers in black soot, spiced marmalade, forest moss, stormy sky, and vintage photo. |
Using my water brush and very little water I lightly painted over. |
Figuring out which ovals to use, I have two sets by My Favorite Things. |
Just a tad bit of red line tape on the outside and inside to secure the ribbon. |
Finished Card. |
What a sweet scene. Nice job!
